Finally, our latest snowstorm has passed. Hundreds of schools were closed here in northern Michigan yesterday.
Taking the back roads to town recently, I noticed the little bare twiggy trees planted in rows near the city limits. Almost every one held the remains of a well crafted bird nest once hidden among the leaves, now exposed to the rain, wind and snow. It seemed as if once a mother bird began crafting her cradle, the tree was off limits to other expectant parents as each sapling contained one and only one nest.
Acrylic paint on a small wooden block measuring 3.75 x 2.75 x 1.75 in deep. Five trees in all with three on the front and one on each side. Top and bottom painted as well. Available in my etsy shop: Saraphina
